One of my favorite things to do is travel. Occasionally in my travels I get to stumble upon a beautiful animal and happen to have my camera there to capture it. Wildlife photography is a challenging and patient art. I don’t have an interest in it for the most part. But every now and again its quite enjoyable. Most of my photos are of Montana Wildlife Photography. Montana still possesses vast amounts of land untouched by commercial development. In this wilderness you can get some great elk photos. Mine was taken in Yellowstone National Park, which makes it easier to get close to them. Technically the photo was taken in Wyoming. The stag photos were taken in the Scottish Highlands, sadly they seem a little less wild and a little more inside a tall fence. Hawk photos were taken on Cape Cod. I found this guy and I he wasn’t too happy with me and kept flying away. Ended up getting a great shot of him and his prey. The osprey photos are from Eureka, Montana. The osprey’s hunting grounds are Lake Koocanusa, where the fishing always seems to be good (for them) as I often see them with a fish in their beak. Big horn sheep photos were also taken in Yellowstone. Felt I got very lucky that day considering I got such a great shot of a elk and big horn sheep on the same day. The coral reefs are what I consider the most beautiful things on earth. As far as taking pictures they are difficult to capture since they are scared of you difficult to orchestrate due to the extra light needed. Boils down to a lot of expensive equipment. Or you can just go down to the local aquarium and bring a fast lens. Still proves to be challenging, but its cheaper and provides better results than spending the money on a plane ticket, diving equipment, and a underwater housing. Coral reef photos are always a fun reminder of the amazing life that’s beneath our vast oceans.
